Meet Dr. Corey Schumer
YOUR CARING TUCSON DENTIST
“I have many goals I would like to accomplish while being your dentist. My main goal is to provide quality dental care in a relaxed and inviting environment. I want to educate you, my patient, and make sure you understand why treatment is recommended and when it is recommended. I strive to set myself apart from other dentists in communication and comfort of my patients. Many people do not know that dentistry has evolved from restorative (fixing after something breaks), to preventive (providing dentistry to avoid future problems). I want to educate you about dentistry in ways you may not have experienced in the past, and work as a team to provide you with knowledge to achieve a healthy mouth.”
— Dr. Corey Schumer
Schumer Dental, DDS
Dr. Schumer comes from a family of dental professionals. His father is a general dentist in Michigan and his brother is a general dentist in New York. Growing up, Dr. Schumer had the privilege to watch his father provide dentistry to his patients, and the joy and comfort he brought them. This is what inspired him to enter the dental profession: making people smile.
Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Schumer attended Wayne State University and achieved pre-bachelor’s acceptance to University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. This allowed him to finish dental school in fewer years than normal, and start providing quality services to his community. While in Detroit, Dr. Schumer treated an underprivileged and poor community, so as to enhance his skills with very difficult and medically compromised patients.
Dr. Schumer’s quality work, high ethical standards, and passion to succeed drives him to consistently improve his knowledge and training in dentistry. He continues his education in all aspects of dentistry with an emphasis on aesthetics and implant restoration. He is also active in the Arizona Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Outside the Office
Dr. Schumer grew up in the city of Farmington Hills, Michigan. He and his wife Jennifer moved to Tucson in 2010 and fell in love with the city, mostly because of the wonderful people they have met. Dr. Schumer and Jennifer have two children, Kayla and Jacob. He is an avid golfer and enjoys swimming with his family.
